Christ is All I Need: Intro

It’s wild how people take a basic truth and start to shift and change it. We mold it to become more palatable, more in line with what we want or desire. It happens subconsciously. It happens intentionally at times. Someone brings in a new thought or idea and it sounds right, so it gets worked into our beliefs. Oftentimes, it’s just a matter of how we were raised or what we “understood” before coming to a saving belief in Christ that influences our thoughts and understandings of the gospel.

In our next study, Christ is All I Need, we’ll be focusing on the book of Colossians. This is a letter that Paul wrote to the church in Colossae while he was imprisoned in Rome. Paul had never been to Colossae before and did not plant this church, but rather someone he had preached to, Epaphras, went on to Colossae and planted a church there. Paul had heard about some of the teachings and influences that were going on there and he wanted to reach out and point them back to the basic truth of Jesus and His all-sufficiency.

Colossians starts out with Paul praying for the church. The next week we’ll dive into the supremacy of Christ followed by how Jesus is enough. We’ll look at new life in Jesus, becoming what you are, and finally how it all ought to be for God’s glory.

As always, I'd love for you to join me in this study! You can find it on Love God Greatly or Amazon if you want to purchase a physical copy. You can also follow along in the YouVersion App or Love God Greatly App from your phone's app store for free. I'd love for you to keep up with my posts about it here, but if you're anything like me, you'll get so much more out of it if you look it over on your own before you read what I have to say.

Here’s the Thing: I’m looking forward to diving into this epistle of Paul, focusing on how Christ is at the center of our faith and the most important aspect of, well, everything!
