Plus One

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a shout of command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be suddenly caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.  1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

I’ve been given a plus one to the most incredible event that has even been thrown, or ever will be for that matter. You definitely don’t want to miss it. There will never be another opportunity like this one again. This is going to be the party of the century. Of the millennia! Of the… what comes after a millennia?  

Don’t worry about what you will wear, we will each get new clothing when we get there! Don’t worry about not knowing anyone. Yeah I’ll be there, but even better, the One who made you, who knows you inside and out, who loves you more than you could possibly imagine, will be there waiting for you!

About that inside and out part. I’m betting there’s some stuff there you’re not too excited for Him to see. Spoiler alert, He already sees it. So the simplest thing is to just deal with it now. Talk to Him about it. He’s got some great news for you, He already paid the price to clear your debt completely. All you need to do is acknowledge that what you’ve done is wrong and you need His help. Believe in your heart that Jesus is God’s Son, that He died for your sin and rose from the dead. Next thing you know, your heart has been invited to the party already!

Here's the thing: So if I’m not around, don’t miss me too much. You can look forward to seeing me when you get to the party too! Just make sure to tell others about your plus one so that they can join in the fun. What’s a party without friends?

At least it's not bad news

  Radical tumor removal is not always possible because of the critical brainstem or diencephalic locations of some tumors. Tumor progression and eventual death are likely in such patients. When "Wait and See" Wouldn't Sound so Bad

    Ten days after I received the call letting me know that they found something on the MRI I was sitting in the office of a Neurosurgeon.  I have no doubt that God orchestrated the circumstances that had brought me there, including a friend who is also dealing with a brain tumor recommending this clinic. But how could any of this be real? Only a couple of people knew what was going on, but there wasn't much to know before this appointment. All we had were a few key phrases on the MRI Study Result and our dear friend, Dr. Google.  I went into the appointment with the impression that the doctor would either recommend watching and waiting, doing another MRI in six months and seeing if anything changed, or taking it out right away.  In previous encounters where the option was to wait or do something I have vastly preferred doing something, but this time it was different.
